A large sweeping corner on busy Grays Road, bordering the Porirua Harbour in Wellington, is notorious for drivers losing control and ending up on the mud flats. The development of a walkway along this section of the inlet has prompted the Porirua City Council to safeguard motorists and pedestrians on the proposed walkway by installing CSP Pacific’s Lograil Barrier.
“A high number of vehicles lose control on this corner and, with the new walkway about to be created, we needed to ensure this corner was safe for all concerned,” says Jason Harvey-Wills, Consultant Resource Planner for Porirua City Council. “It was also important that we considered the visual impact of whatever was installed. We really didn’t want to use a large bulky armco barrier so we choose CSP Pacific’s Lograil barrier for this very picturesque spot. Lograil is very sympathetic with the landscape.”
“Lograil is aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly without compromising safety,” says Jeremy Mallender, Area Sales Manager Lower North Island for CSP Pacific. “It has been installed in many scenic areas throughout New Zealand.”
|“We installed 120m of Lograil on quite a tight corner along Grays Road for PCC,” said Grant Dick, Project Manager for Downer Group. “It is not often I can say that nothing went wrong on a job, but in this case everything went extremely well. My team really enjoyed working in the location, the ground conditions were good and the barrier was easy to install - even though it was the first time we’d installed Lograil.”|
“We are extremely happy with the choice of Lograil for this location,” adds Jason. “Not only does it look amazing but it is a fully tested and approved safety barrier so we know that the public will be kept safe. The local resident’s association is also extremely happy. We consult with them regularly over the development of the area and they have given the installation the thumbs up as well. Both Downer’s and CSP Pacific were very good to deal with on this project. Lograil certainly ticks all the boxes for us.”
