CSP Pacific's range of U-MAD™ TMA's (truck mounted attenuators) has now been extended to include a trailer mounted version.

The U-MAD™ Trailer TMA is designed to absorb collision energy during rear-end impacts. They protect errant motorists who impact on slow moving or stationary vehicles and are used around the world to make work zones safer - improving safety for the motorist, the support vehicle operator and shielding workmen.

"The U-MAD™ Trailer TMA units offer the ultimate in flexible, low cost protection in any short term work area," says Andy Holmes, Traffic Control Product Manager for CSP Pacific. "The TMA is engineered to keep the impacting vehicle and support vehicle in the travel lane even after angle impacts."

The system can be reused after impact by simply replacing the cartridge with an easy-to-install standard U-MAD cartridge - reducing total cost of ownership and increasing availability.

"We decided to add the trailer mounted version to our range as it is extremely stable under impact compared to other TMAs available," adds Andy.

"The debris scatter, after impact of the U-MAD™ Trailer TMA, is also greatly reduced meaning there is less chance of debris affecting other motorists or bystanders."

The trailers are fully tested and approved to NCHRP 350 TL-2 (test level 2 with a 70kph capacity) and TL-3 (test level 3 with 100kph capacity).
