Oclyte Tuff Coat™- effective in the war on graffiti
Any surface in a public place can be subjected to a graffiti attack, and sports grounds are no exception.
“Oclyte Tuff Coat™ is a high performance, solvent resistant, two-component spray product,” says Craig Kitchen, Sales Engineer for CSP Pacific. “Using a solvent-based cleaner, graffiti can easily be cleaned off galvanised columns coated with Oclyte Tuff Coat™.”
The clean up of graffiti comes at significant cost to ratepayers with water blasting and re-painting being expensive options that don’t always remove all signs of the graffiti.
“We are currently speaking to several organisations about spraying entire floodlight columns with Oclyte Tuff Coat™,” said Craig.
With the cost to coat whole columns comparative to a 10 year powder coated paint finish, plus the added benefits that Oclyte Tuff Coat™ offers - extending the life of a galvanised column and graffiti protection - it is an economically viable proposition for these organisations.
“An added bonus is that black columns also look great in all environments,” added Craig.

CSP Pacific’s hire barriers create safe work zone for staff
Orewa Boulevard Stage 1
With the Northern Gateway now open, Orewa's main street traffic volumes have
dropped by an estimated 50%. This has given the Rodney Council the opportunity to make the beach front a more recreational destination, by narrowing the road way and widening the footpaths to allow for greater foot traffic.
Work has begun on the 6-9 month project and, with the help of CSP Pacific’s hire barriers, a safe work zone has been established for the Fulton Hogan team.

CSP Pacific’s Multiplate arch to help save lives
Ohingaiti to Maikohine Realignment Project
A 110m long Multiplate arch, manufactured by CSP Pacific, has been installed over the main trunk line at Ohingaiti and will form an overpass over the rail track replacing a level crossing that was the scene of a double fatality in July 2007.
The overpass is part of work that Stringfellow Contracts are undertaking on behalf of the New Zealand Transport Agency to realign a 3.6km section of road on SH1 midway between Taihape and Hunterville. It will remove the steep winding road on Makohine Hill that has also seen a number of fatal and injury crashes, and replace it with a straighter, safer route.
“The arch was constructed to one side of the track on temporary footings,“ said Sue Walker, Marketing and Export Engineer, CSP Pacific. “We manufactured the arch in four sections so they could easily be lifted into place over the main trunk line without too much disruption.”
There is a long way to go on this project with competition expected in late 2010.

| Bales of TL-1 barriers ready for delivery |
|
Transport costs reduced for clients
“The transport costs for the delivery of our barriers is a cost the client can’t avoid,” says David Russell Hire Manager, CSP Pacific. “However we have been trialing various methods of stacking the TL-1 barriers and have come up with a system that allows bales of 15 units to be strapped together, allowing a Hi-Ab to easily unload the bales. This means we can load 90 TL-1 barriers onto one truck and trailer unit.”
“This offers our customers a considerable saving on delivery costs and they are much easier to load and unload on site.” |
