Anchorbloc™ holds up its end

For decades the electrification of Auckland’s rail system has been a topic of discussion with initial works finally commencing in late 2008 and 2009.

In January 2011, for the first time ever, the entire rail network was closed for a two-week period where contractors were involved in pre-electrification work and upgrades. A new rail bridge at Browns Road was also constructed and included widening of the road and major retaining of the banks to Browns Road using CSP Pacific’s Anchorbloc™ retaining wall system.

Lograil is easy on the eye

Fox Glacier is arguably one of the most spectacular tourist destinations in New Zealand, situated on the West Coast of the Southern Alps.

“With a number of loss-of-control and corner-cutting type accidents historically on the access road to the glacier and with visitor numbers continuing to grow, undertaking the seal extension improvements were necessary,” explains Tom Hopkins, Technical Support Officer for the Department of Conservation. “Included in this plan was the pre-requisite to use CSP Pacific’s Lograil Barrier to complement the surroundings.”

Technical note on installation of X-350 End Terminal in a trailing/exit location - Lapping of rail

When a X-350 End Terminal is installed in a trailing/exit location, where the terminal head is facing away from the direction the vehicle is travelling, the splice join at rails 1, 2 and 3 of the terminal will be against the direction of traffic.
