A two-lane bridge at Kaupokonui on SH45, damaged earlier this year when a car careened through the side barrier and plunged into the river, has been upgraded to once again be safe with the help of Thrie-Beam™ Guardrail and specially designed neck bolts from CSP Pacific.

NZ Transport Agency have updated their Technical Advice Note (TAN), TAN #16-01 released in February 2016 - ‘Wire Rope Safety Barrier Systems – post footing issues’, as TAN #16-18.

The NZ Transport Agency has announced that, together with Australian road controlling authorities, they are introducing an Australasian road safety barrier accreditation scheme.

Technical Support and Marketing Manager, Sue Walker was appointed as the New Zealand representative to the industry working party tasked with investigating and then recommending a scheme to  improve barrier industry standards.
