Christmas shutdown

Production will close on 22 December and re-open 11 January 2010.

A skeleton crew will be working over the break for any urgent orders.

CSP Pacific would like to wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to working with you in 2010.

New – Budget Seesaw Column

Health and safety concerns for people working on columns at height have prompted CSP Pacific to develop a range of seesaw columns for lighting and camera applications that address this risk. Available for mounting heights of 3m to 8m, equipment can be installed and maintained on columns from ground level, reducing the risk of human injury and equipment damage. The first of these columns has been sold to Innovative Controls in Melbourne, Australia for a Housing Commission estate in Collingwood.

“In Australia regulations in regard to working over a certain height state that you cannot use a ladder and must use either a scaffold or a scizzor lift to access equipment,” said Rob McIntosh, Managing Director, Innovative Controls. “The seesaw column enables the user to lower the light or, in this case the cameras, to ground height which then allows them to be cleaned and inspected without having to set up a scaffold or hire a scizzor lift.”

Safeguard™ Gate Safety Barrier gives greater access to the Terrace Tunnel

In June this year CSP Pacific’s Safeguard™ Gate Safety Barrier was fitted just past the exit from the tunnel to minimise the effect of incidents on the traffic flow of the city.

CSP Pacific’s Multiplate eliminates road and rail closures at Waipukurau Overpass project

A 90m long Multiplate arch, manufactured by CSP Pacific, has been installed on SH2, 2kms north of Waipukurau over a live rail line. The new overpass replaces a two-lane bridge built in 1937. The old bridge, built on a curve in the road, was a hazard for motorists and consequently had a poor safety record. The year-long project began in March and has also involved the realignment of SH2.

New – Armorwire Cable Barrier now available in a TL4 - 4 cable system

CSP Pacific are pleased to launch the Test Level 4 (TL4) Armorwire Cable Barrier System. This new system is 100% compatible with the existing Test Level 3 (TL3) Armorwire system already in use in areas around New Zealand.

The new universal post and terminal end design can be used on both the TL3 and TL4 barrier systems. Existing installations can also be easily upgraded.

"New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) are now insisting that any future installations of Wire Rope Safety Barriers used on any ‘Road of National Significance’ be TL4,” said Raymond Kuys, Business Development Manager CSP Pacific.

In addition the existing TL3 – 3 Armorwire Cable Barrier has been re-tested at NCHRP350 - TL3 and as a result a new deflection of 1.54m at 3m post spacing is now available.

The new TL4 system and the revised TL3 system have been approved by NZTA for use on State Highways and will be added to M23 in early 2010.
