Extensive testing on the Dynaflex™ mounting showed that its flexibility ensured the sign returned to its original orientation after impact – maintaining the sign’s performance as a road safety device.

Breakaway Sign Post Systems show the way on SH2 – Dowse to Petone

The Dowse to Petone upgrade project, undertaken on behalf of the Government by NZTA, is nearly complete.

More than 200 permanent signs, 30 of these overhead or gantry type signs and hundreds of temporary warning signs, have been required for this project.

“Approach Signs manufactured the signs and we supplied the post design and the raw materials, excluding the sign face,” said Andrew Holmes Traffic Control Product Manager, CSP Pacific.

“The post designs had to meet the Road Sign Manufacturers Association (RSMA) standards and we were able to do this using our Breakaway Sign Post System.”

Nu-Guard 31™ Steel Guardrail System saves lives on the Kilmog

In May and June of this year CSP Pacific’s Nu-Guard™ Steel Guardrail System and Safence™ Wire Rope Safety barrier were installed on several locations of the Coastal Otago State Highway network by Fulton Hogan - including a section of road on Kilmog Hill on SH1 north of Dunedin - as part of the New Zealand Transport Agency’s safety retrofit program.

Several weeks after the Nu-Guard 31™ Steel Guardrail System was installed on Kilmog Hill a driver lost control on this corner. The guardrail prevented the car from crashing over the bank and causing serious injury.

CSP Pacific supplies guardrail for largest installation in the South Island

A five-mile stretch of SH1, just north of Christchurch, has recently seen the largest single contract awarded for guardrail installation in the South Island as part of NZTA’s safety retrofit programme.

Nearly 2.7kms of CSP Pacific’s Thriebeam and Nu-Guard 31™ Steel Guardrail TL4 barrier was installed on the Waimakiriri and Kaiapoi bridges, both double-lane bridges in each direction.
